We believe that the men and women who answered our nation's call are deserving of special attention and consideration. Those who served in the military have proven their devotion to their fellow citizens, and we owe them the same respect and devotion in return. Flintoft’s Funeral Home honors all veterans with special arrangement options.

Veteran Burial Service includes:

  • Twenty-four hour availability for transfer of deceased to the funeral home within 35 miles.
  • Consultation and arrangements with family and others.
  • Preparing all necessary forms, including death certificate, social security notification.
  • Assistance with an obituary and newspaper notices.
  • Customized online photo memorial, guestbook and obituary with directions to the service.
  • Securing the doctor’s signature on the death certificate.
  • Facilitating the King County Medical Examiner's review of the death certificate (in King County only).
  • Filing the death certificate with the health department, and obtaining the legal permit for burial.
  • Embalming, washing, dressing, and casketing.
  • Viewing for up to 3 hours. 
  • Application for VA benefits, VA marker and VA burial flag.
  • Coordination with the veteran's branch of service to secure military honors. 
  • Hearse transportation to the cemetery.
  • Use of professional staff and equipment for coordination and direction of a graveside service.
  • 8x10 printed photo.
  • Subtract $400 for no embalming and viewing

 

Did You Know?

  • We can help you verify your eligibility to be buried at Tahoma National Cemetery.
  • Services at Tahoma National Cemetery are held at an outdoor shelter site not the graveside.
  • A service at Tahoma is 30 minutes to include the time to gather under the shelter and dismiss.
  • Services at Tahoma are Monday through Friday.
  • All families gather at the visitor's center prior to their service time and are dismissed to the service shelter at their designated time.

Casket ~ Flowers ~ Chapel Service  ~ Washington State taxes and fees ~ Paid paper notices, such as the Seattle Times  ~ Additional transportation services  ~ Cemetery expenses ~ Clergy, church and musician stipends ~ King County Medical Examiner's death certificate inspection fee $70 ~ Certified copies of the death certificate $25 each
