Green, or natural burial is a practical and elegant way to say goodbye. Our processes care for your family member and help protect the environment. Incorporating biodegradable caskets, natural fiber shrouds and simple body preparation with onsite care and oversight allows us to adhere to a green standard.

Green Burial Service includes:

  • Twenty-four hour availability for transfer of deceased to the funeral home within 35 miles.
  • Consultation and arrangements with family and others.
  • Preparing all necessary forms, including death certificate, social security notification.
  • Assistance with an obituary and newspaper notices.
  • Customized online photo memorial, guestbook and obituary with directions to the service.
  • Securing the doctor’s signature on the death certificate.
  • Facilitating the King County Medical Examiner's review of the death certificate (in King County only).
  • Filing the death certificate with the health department, and obtaining the legal permit for burial.
  • Secure controlled temperature holding. 
  • Sanitary care and shrouding in a natural fiber cloth, NO embalming.  
  • Lining of casket with cushioning wood fibers.
  • Carbon off-set environmental investment on your behalf.  
  • Use of hearse for transportation to the cemetery 
  • Use of professional equipment and staff for coordination and direction of a graveside gathering.
  • Graveside gathering at any local cemetery.

Casket ~ Flowers ~ Dressing and viewing ~ Chapel service ~ Memorial book and cards ~ Washington State taxes and fees ~ Paid paper notices, such as the Seattle Times  ~ Additional transportation services  ~ Cemetery expenses ~ Clergy, church and musician stipends ~ King County Medical Examiner's death certificate inspection fee $70 ~ Certified copies of the death certificate $25 each.
